Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati movie is making news lately.  The movie is soon going onto the sets.  The movie stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles.  Shahid will be seen essaying the role of Padmavati’s husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh.  The twist in the tale is, it is not Shahid Kapoor who was approached first for the husband role.

It is the King Khan SRK who was approached to play the husband role of Padmavati.  As it is a second lead role, SRK is not keen to do it and so rejected the role.  He rejected the film in his well known smart way by demanding huge remuneration.  Later there came a rumor that said because of animosity of Ranveer SLB has even approached SRK to play the lead role Allauddin Khilji.

Shahid Kapoor roped in to play second lead in Padmavati

Finally, SLB has finalized Shahid Kapoor for the role.  Even that has not gone easily for SLB.  It is the second lead role and Shahid is one of the top heroes in Bollywood who has a huge fan following, but SLB made it possible by paying huge remuneration.  The character of Rawal Ratan Singh is said to be very weak and as per history, he loses his kingdom and his wives to Sultan Allauddin Khilji.

It is said that Shahid wanted few changes in the script about his character.  Nevertheless, it is said that both the male leads of the flick got satisfied with the script after changes.  As per the reports, Bhansali will pay Shahid a whopping amount of Rs. 9 to 10 crores for the second lead role.

The exact details about the movie were not yet revealed by the movie makers or by the cast of the movie.  Let us wait and see what SLB has packed in the box for us.
