A notice is issued on the 14th of October on www.ssc.nic.in that the Staff Selection Commission SSC CGL tier-1 2016 exam will be out on 8th November. Another point is that the re-exam for SSC CGL 2016 exam of one shift will be held. The Tier 2 tentative schedule is also out with reports surfacing about a possible scam surrounding the re-exam.
The exam called SSC CGL 2016 tier-1 exam was held in August/September 2016 for filling approximately four thousand Group B & C posts in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations. No official confirmation is available about the result for those waiting for the announcement of the SSC GCL result. Approximately 1.5 million candidates appeared for the online exam and are waiting for the results with latest reports confirming that Staff Selection Commission delayed the results due to administrative reasons. Staff Selection Commission will conduct a re-exam on October 27th.
The re-examination will be conducted only for those candidates who appeared for CGL exam held on August 27 for the evening shift i.e. 4.15 pm to 5.30 pm. The official notice published on October 14th confirms the 38.04 lakh applications received by the Commission for CGL 2016 exam out of which only 14.99 lakh took the exam across 97 cities.
The notice mentioned administrative reasons for the re-examination only for one shift and the tentative date is October 27th. The notice unsettled the CGL aspirants as there is no clear confirmation behind the reasons for holding a re-exam. The aspirants complained that the SSC could notify earlier about conducting the re-exam and were unable to understand the delay in response from the Commission.
It is now clear that the SSC CGL Tier-1 candidates who appeared for the second shift on August 27th only will have to appear for the re-examination. The candidates who failed to appear for the exam for the same shift after being issued call letters will not be allowed the re-exam. The confirmation of exam venue and other details are expected to be notified to eligible candidates this week separately.
The SSC-CGL Tier-2 exam was tentatively scheduled to be held in November earlier and the delay in publication of Tier 1 exam result has pushed back the schedule. As per SSC, after the completion of the re-exam, the results of the tier-1 exam will be announced on November 8. The Tier-2 exam is proposed to be conducted from November 30th to December 2nd.
