Burnout is an inevitable experience we may feel eventually. It is a state of mental exhaustion from lots of pent-up stress. In this state you will feel unmotivated, distracted emotionally, tired all day and be overwhelmed. Here are some ways to deal with burnout.
Take a Step Back
When you start feeling stressed or overwhelmed about something it is a good tell-tale sign to take a step back and take a break. Do something you like or get some fresh air and go take a walk outside and explore your new neighborhood at The Serra Residences. There are many coping mechanisms such as going out with friends and getting in touch with family and loved ones.
Know that You Have Limits
Everyone has a limit and you have to be aware of yours. It is okay to take it slow and take breaks from time to time and to tell yourself that you are tired. By doing this, you are able to accomplish what you can really do instead of putting too much on your plate, only causing stress and the feeling of being overwhelmed. A thing you can do is to break down those big tasks into small steps so that it does not feel daunting when you do them. Each step when finished can be a checkpoint you can return to when you are ready to take on the task again.
Put Yourself First
Mental health is important especially in this day and age where we are surrounded by technology and work. Identify when you are feeling burnt out early so that it does not get worse. Put yourself first, eat properly, get some proper rest and proper sleep. Do things that help you destress with activities such as going to the gym. Set boundaries for yourself to protect your well-being. You can say no to tasks and things that you don’t want to do so that you don’t burn yourself out further, and people will respect it.
