Entering tournaments is a chance for you to show your skills to your local area. Many have routines every day or a couple hours before the start to ensure that they remain calm under pressure and are at their best.
Establish Goals
Identify some goals that you want to achieve during your tournament run. It is okay to make winning it a goal, but keep in mind that true success means giving each match your best. Goals such as reaching top 10 or doing macros you practiced can be counted as a win to preserve your passion and avoid disappointment and frustration.
Eat Up
The night before, make sure you are well-rested in your Chencharu Central Residences home. A couple of hours before the tournament, load up on carbohydrates, which will be your main source of energy for the event to prevent fatigue from kicking in early and be at the top of your game, since your reaction time and thinking relies on the glucose stored in your body.
Breathing Techniques
Nerves will always be part of tournaments. Breathing techniques may be able to help you calm down and focus more. A common technique used is breathing slowly from your nose for 4 seconds and holding it for 4 seconds and after letting it out through your nose or mouth.
Remember to Have Fun
Other than winning it all, remind yourself that you are there to have fun no matter how it goes. This prevents you from crumbling under pressure and anxiety. Many people actually play better when doing so, and it keeps your passion for the game and stops burnout.
Connect with the Community
At events, you will be in an environment where the people around you share the same interest as you, so it doesn’t hurt to establish some connections and bond with the other players. You may learn a thing or two so that you can bounce back stronger next tournament.
