Pets and technology don’t go well together because a lot of things can happen. Remote setups combine these two and have your pets act as your co-workers at home. Here are some tips to create a pet-friendly tech hub for a safer environment in your Penrith home office.

Pet proof your space

Place your gadgets, wires and other technology to higher areas where your pet won’t be able to reach them. This will keep your pooch from chewing on your mic, messing up your computer setup and leaving hair all over, leading to allergies, or worse peeing or pooping on devices and accessories. Keep your wires organized and secure them by using velcro covers that are pet resistant or tape to prevent them from chewing it causing potential danger that could harm both of you.

Clean your work desk

Pets love places where you’ve been, like your chair for work or your table. Cats would usually climb on it and leave dander and hair all over leading to your setup heating up easier since hair will be blocking the fans and the keyboard keys, making it less responsive. Investing in keyboard covers can be a solution, but you will still have to clean your setup whenever your pet gets near.

Monitor your pet

While computer wires and devices may sometimes cause hazards, technology can be a valuable tool for ensuring pet safety. Keep an eye on your pet even when you’re working with the use of cameras. You will be able to watch over them even if you are in another room and check in with them to prevent chaotic things from happening, like your cat jumping on your table, or pup messing your couch and getting cotton all over the place.

Keep them entertained

Allot space for your pet in your room and provide entertainment with no noise, like stuffed toys, puzzles, and interactive toys that automatically reward treats. Make sure they are comfortable and have a bed for them to rest in whilst waiting for you to finish your work and play with them. Train them to behave while you are working so they know the right time to play with you.
