Summer has started and it’s going to be really hot. Try these tips to cool off and beat the heat this season.
Install Air Conditioning
Invest in an inverter type AC, which is effective in cooling every part of your home and is energy efficient, meaning that while being cool, you also save money on your electrical bill. Inverter ACs have longer lifespans, run quietly, and provide you with stable cooling throughout the day.
Ventilate Your Home
It is advised that you let some fresh air into your home at Thomson Reserve, preferably at night or early morning when the air has cooled down. Throughout the day, close the curtains and windows in sunny parts of your home so the air that is coming in will be cool when you ventilate.
Stay Hydrated
It goes without saying that staying hydrated is important, especially under the hot weather. Drink 8 glasses of water daily to keep your body temperature in check and replenish the water your body lets out via sweating. You can make hydrating more interesting by making juice and other kinds of beverages.
Eat Chilled Food
Aside from drinking water, you can beat the heat with cool food like ice cream and fruits or any other cold desserts. Stock up on these cool snacks to have them within reach during a hot day.
Regulate Your Temperature
Take cold showers regularly to regulate your body temperature and wear light colors. Darker colors absorb the heat so try wearing light, loose-fitting clothes so that the heat absorbed will be at a minimum. You can also apply a cold towel or ice pack on your body to cool off.
Always Be Prepared
When going out, don’t forget to wear sunscreen, glasses and bring water to stay hydrated during your trip. If possible, try scheduling your trips to early morning or evening so that it won’t be that hot.
