U.S. Olympian, Tim Morehouse, has had a successful career as a world-class fencer.
Having already been to Beijing and London with the U.S. Olympic fencing team, his focus now is on developing the next generation. His company, Tim Morehouse Fencing Club, has locations across New York and offers elite training for young fencing athletes.
Most recently, Morehouse has expanded his brand even further with the opening of his brand new shop: Morehouse Fencing Gear. Selling the latest in fencing equipment, the shop is Morehouse’s next big step as a leader in the fencing community.
About Tim Morehouse
Originally from the Bronx, New York, Tim Morehouse graduated from Riverdale Country School in 1996 and went on to fence at Brandeis University in Massachusettes. By his second year at Brandeis, he became one of the NCAA’s top fencers.
In 2000, Morehouse graduated from Brandeis. While there, he was recognized three times as an NCAA All-American athlete. After graduating from college, he went on to pursue a master’s degree in Education from Pace University. He graduated from Pace in 2003.
In 2004, he joined the U.S. Olympic team as a reserve athlete for the Summer Olympic games held in Athens, Greece. He then joined the team again at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. While there, he won a silver medal in the team competition and placed 22nd as an individual.
At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he joined the team again; placing 8th individually and 8th with the team.
Offering the latest in fencing equipment
After spending years as an Olympian and fencing coach, Morehouse eventually decided to open his own fencing gear shop. Named ‘Morehouse Fencing Gear’, Morehouse founded the shop in an effort to give provide quality fencing equipment at a fair price.
In an open letter on the company website, Morehouse said, “I want to share the feeling of excitement and passion that I have for fencing with you by making it easy to get the gear you need.”
He went on to say that he has ‘personally inspected or trained’ with the equipment sold in the shop. Customers can rest assured that the products sold up to his standards.
On the website, shoppers can purchase anything fencing related. From the appropriate weapons, masks, jackets, gloves, and shoes; fencers of all ages and experience levels can find the right equipment.
There are also a variety of starter sets and bundles available for those just starting out. A basic starter pack begins at $209.00 whereas more advanced bundles can cost upwards of $500.00.
The Tim Morehouse Brand: More than just a shop
Tim Morehouse does more than just sell fencing equipment. He also owns and operates his own fencing training company: Tim Morehouse Fencing Club.
This club offers individual lessons, year-round camps, and group training programs for kids and adults of all ages. Its New York facilities are located in Westchester, Manhattan, and Larchmont.
The program boasts an elite group of trainers and coaches including several Olympians. These include Olympians Achiko Lortkipanidze and Slava Grigoriev, among many other talented coaches with national and international recognition. Tim Morehouse is also an instructor; with several of his students going on to win national medals.
